As people all over New York were getting ready for Halloween festivities on Friday, October 30, the cast of “9-Ball”: The Movie took over Amsterdam Billiard Club for their exclusive fan party, giving fans and pool players the chance to meet the stars of this upcoming film.

“9-Ball”: The Movie has been a hot topic among pool fans around the world, as it is slated to feature two of the hottest stars in women’s pool: Jennifer Barretta and “The Black Widow” Jeanette Lee.

Although Lee was not able to attend the party, Barretta, who plays the lead role of “Gail,” a aspiring pro pool player was present, as well as many other cast members including Rachel Tisera, Carrie Snodgrass, Mark Kochanowicz, Jennifer Wiener, and Jeanine Bartel.

Fans of the movie got the chance to get have autographs signed by Jennifer Barretta and other starring actors.  Additionally, the Lucasi Hybrid break cue used by Barretta in the film was raffled off to a lucky party-goer, which was won by Amsterdam Billiards house player “Mikey Rails” Mike Schloven.

Director & creator Tony Palma was also in attendance, who commented, “I think that the party was a great success and a lot of fun.  The fans had a great opportunity to meet the cast and vice versa, and I think it was an overall successful event.”  Palma also added that he would like to thank Amsterdam Billiards owner Greg Hunt and their staff for accommodating the party.

Along with cast members of “9-Ball,” a number of NYC pool personalities including pro player and Predator 9-ball Tour founder, Tony Robles, photographer William Fuentes, and the reigning BCAPL National Champions from Amsterdam Billiards, team “Kiss of Death” made an appearance at the event.  In fact, “Kiss of Death” member Borana Andoni has also been cast in the film to play the role of “Nicole.”

Also attending the “9-Ball” fan party were WPBA pro Rachael Abbink, Mike Bradford of BilliardCommunity.com, and the creator of an exciting new invention called the “Pneu Power Cue.”  This cue is not like conventional pool cues, in that it’s actually mechanically powered, and “fired” by a trigger mechanism.

Of course it’s not meant for traditional pool playing, but instead as a fun tool that can be used in unique ways.  The pool players and fans got the chance to test it out, and it definitely got some buzz going at the party.  The cue is not yet on the market, but you can check it out at www.pneupowercues.com.

Since the recent release of the preview trailer, fans and pool players alike are looking forward to seeing more of “9-Ball”: The Movie, and this party was a great jump-start to get some buzz going around the New York pool scene.  To learn more about this upcoming film, visit www.mainstreetproductions.com.
