“Smiley” Yomaylin Feliz Captures Her First Tri-State Event, Undefeated

At the Sunnyside, Queens pool room, Master Billiards, 30 players competed in the C/D Tri State Tour event on October 17th.

There were several stand-out performances by up-and-coming players, including James Degiosafatto, “Wu-Tang” Duane Toney, Nicholas Chan, Olga Gashkova, Diana “Snooky” Rojas, Mike Polizzi, Ron Mason, and Paul Everton.

In the Hot Seat match, Paul Everton defeated Nicholas Chan 6-4 in a tight battle, earning him a shot at undefeated Yomaylin Feliz.

Yomaylin took an early 3-0 lead, but Everton battled back to regain the lead 4-3. Yomaylin tied it up at 4 games a piece before Everton jumped ahead 6-4. “Smiley” Yomaylin Feliz, dug deep and pulled out her first Tri-State Championshps.

Yomaylin has immersed herself in the game after only playing the game for approximately 3 years.

It is clear that “Smiley” has learned what it takes to grind out a “W” in her first Tri-State Victory.
