All Star field of International Superstars are gearing up for the Lucassi Hybrid Classic

The Lucassi Hybrid Classic will combine Straight Pool (14.1) and 10 Ball, in a unique professional pool/billiards event.

Dragon Promotions who is organizing the event, is expecting a truly impressive line up of International pool players.

Along with the Pro event, there will be a Amateur event to compliment the the Pro’s.

Jacksonville, Florida- An all star cast of world talent will be vying for the 14.1 and 10-Ball titles at the 1st Annual Lucasi Hybrid Classic July 30-Aug 3 at Bankshot Billiards in Jacksonville ,Florida. Players from Philippines, Germany, Finland, Mexico, Japan, Spain, Russia, and the USA will be battling out over 4 days of hot action near the Jacksonville beaches.

Dennis Orcullo, recent winner of the Qatar 9-Ball Championship, is currently the hottest player in the Philippines and will be leading the foreign stars in the hunt for the Lucasi championship events. He will be followed by fellow countryman Santos Sambajon. European contingent will include the likes of Mika Immonen (FIN), Thorsten Hohmann (GER) , Han Berberoglu (RUS), Marc Vidal (SPN), and German Junior Champion 16 year old Dominic Jentsch.

In the Straight Pool division, 2006 World 14.1 Champion Thorsten Hohmann will be coming in as the #1 seed. John Schmidt of the USA will be coming in as the #2 seed. Other notable favorites will include 2007 3rd Place World 14.1 finisher Dennis Orcullo, Johnny Archer USA, Mika Immonen, and NYC favorite Danny Barouty.

The 10-Ball division will be stacked tough with Shane Van Boening coming in as the top seed. Van Boening made his first major win mark in Jacksonville a year ago winning the World 10-Ball Championship and will be returning to continue his win streak in Florida. Other top seeds include Corey Deuel (USA), Orcullo, Mike Davis (USA), Hohmann, Archer, Immonen, Schmidt, Charlie Williams (USA), Sambajon (PHI) and Stevie Moore (USA).

Open spots are still available in all the Ozone Billiards US Amateur Open events and players are encouraged to sign up at the event in person as plenty of open spots are still available in the Open, Women’s, and Seniors.

Dragon Promotions will be doing their annual Pro-Am Charity Event for Juniors this year during the Lucasi Hybrid Classic right after the pro players meeting. The Pro-Am will begin at 8pm on July 30,2008 at Bankshot Billiards in Jacksonville , FL. The benefit will donate money to the funding of the Billiard Education Foundation and the World Junior 10-Ball Championships.

Any fan can challenge one of the many pro stars available Wednesday night for a $10 donation. Johnny Archer, Thorsten Hohmann, Shane Van Boening, Mike Davis, Dennis Orcullo, John Schmidt and many more. All are also welcomed to watch that night for free.
There will also be special sign ups for a longer race with the pros.
Race to 6 for $100 and a Race to 50 in Straight Pool for $100.
