Kelly Fisher is set to Defend Her Title at the WPBA Pacific Coast Classic

Today, the WPBA’s Pacific Coast Classic will be kicking off in Lincoln City, Oregon at the Chinook Winds Casino. The best of the best ladies players from around the world will be fighting for this title, which is currently held by “Kwikfire” Kelly Fisher from England. The pre-event pro/am tournament will be held this evening, and with the main action beginning tomorrow.
Kelly Fisher is currently ranked #4 in the 2009 season, and along with other forerunners like Allison Fisher, Karen Corr, and Xiaoting Pan, Kelly will be looking to looking to knock Korean Champion Ga-Young Kim from her throne in 1st place.
Ms. Kim won both of the previous two events, the Colorado Classic, and the US Open Championships, and is currently leads #2-ranked Xiaoting Pan by over 4,000 points. (5,000 points are awarded to the winner of each major event who go undefeated.) Click Here to view the current rankings on the WPBA.
This event will be a treat for pool fans, as the four Quarterfinal matches, along with the Semifinals and Finals will be aired on ESPN, whereas the Quarterfinal matches are not typically aired. Best of all, this will give more of the tour’s players some great primetime TV exposure.
