The Tri State Tour stopped through pool player friendly Comet Billiards on Saturday October 10th. A field of 35 came out to compete in a $500 added A-D format.

Gary Murgia went straight through the winner’s bracket unscathed through a gritty field, and was the player to beat.

Newcomer to the Tri-State Tour, Emerson Verano was impressive on the one loss-side, battling back from an early loss. Mr. Verano ran into a brick wall against one of the most improved players on the Tri-State Tour, Steve Thomas in the semifinal match.

In the finals, Gary’s firepower and cool hand was too much for Steve to fade as Gary earned the title of king of the castle this weekend.

Notable performances were also shown by Ben Sadowski, Jason Hunt, and Ted Lapadula in this event.

Final Results:

1st: Gary Murgia $700

2nd: Steve Thomas $450

3rd: Emerson Verano $270

4th: Ben Sadowski $165

5th/6th: Jason Hunt, Ted Lapadula $100

7th/8th: Raj Vannala, Dave Fitzpatrick
