By NYC Grind Contributor, Geoff Conway - Pool Junkie
Friday evenings 6:00 pm quarter final matches results were as follows:
PHILIPPINES 4 V POLAND 2
RUSSIA 4 V GERMANY II 1
GREAT BRITAIN I 4 V CHINA 3
SWITZERLAND 0 V GREECE 4
It should be noted that Great Britain were 3-1 down before Daryl Peach and Darren Appleton righted the ship to tie the match at 3-3 bringing the nail-biting SHOOT OUT into play. GB, in keeping with the financial climate that is upon us at this time, came out tops in the “drastic cuts” department. (Click Here to read about the shootout procedure in yesterday’s report.)
SATURDAY’S SEMI-FINAL MATCHES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
PHILIPPINES V RUSSIA
GREAT BRITAIN I V GREECE
The last four teams are each hoping to get their hands on the first prize of $100,000 with $50,000 going to the second place, $30,000 for third place, and $15,000 for fourth place.
